Did You Know? The law allows a police officer to intervene to prevent an offense.

A policeman is permitted under the law to intervene to prevent any offence and he shall do that to the best of his ability.

In the same vein, a police officer also, based on his authority can intervene to prevent an injury that’s about to be committed to government property whether it is movable or immovable.

It’s also important to know that a police officer can also intervene whenever anyone attempts to illegally remove or injure any public landmark, buoy, or any other mark used for navigation.

See Section 84(1) and (2) of the Police Act 2020
