In Nigeria, if you publish any defamatory matter (any matter that spoils the image of a particular individual or entity unjustly), you are guilty of a misdemeanour and you’re liable for imprisonment for a term of one year.
This is why it’s advisable to steer clear of any publication that defames someone’s character.
